Is Empire State better at night or day
We recommend visiting early in the morning or late in the evening on weekdays to avoid the crowds and enjoy amazing sunrise views or see the best of the famous New York City lights after dark. Don't forget to book your tickets in advance and get ready to experience some of the best views in the Big Apple!
Is it worth going to 102 floor Empire State Building : A visit to our 102nd floor observatory provides guests with a more intimate experience and an unparalleled view of New York City. Tickets to this deck can be purchased at any kiosk on our 86th floor observatory for an extra $20.
For visitors looking to dodge the crowds, we recommend taking a trip to the top between 12pm and 2pm, as our daily morning rush is over by then. Want to skip the line entirely Add an Express Pass to your ticket at checkout and spend more time enjoying the view.
The Empire State Building sells both a general admission ticket and a skip-the-line ticket known as the Express Pass. During peak hours and especially in popular seasons, the more expensive Express Pass can be a useful option to avoid waiting in line for too long especially if you can't make the off-peak times.
Is it worth going to the 102nd floor of the Empire State Building
The Empire State Building has two observation decks: the iconic outdoor 86th Floor Observatory and the exclusive 102nd Floor Observatory. Both decks offer panoramic views of the city, but the 102nd Floor Observatory features unparalleled sights that stretch up to 80 miles through the floor-to-ceiling windows. The Empire State Building sells both a general admission ticket and a skip-the-line ticket known as the Express Pass. It's the most iconic building in New York, and has been since 1931. I haven't been for 11 years, so the history and additional feature before you ascend is a definite bonus.
Sixteen stories above our 86th floor observation deck and accessed through a one-of-a-kind glass elevator, the 102nd floor offers true 360-degree views thanks to floor-to-ceiling windows on all sides.
Should I go to Top of the Rock or Empire State Building : If you want the most iconic picture of New York's skyline, go to Top of the Rock because then your pictures will have the Empire State Building in them. But if you're more keen to tick the Empire State off your bucket list, you can capture stunning views featuring the water and Rockefeller Plaza instead.
Is it worth going up Empire State Building : I thought it was great. I did both the 86th floor and the 102nd and I felt it was worth the extra money. The floor to ceiling windows allow you to see and take photos unobstructed by any aspect of the building itself which is great for panoramic shots. The museum is also pretty cool and informative.
Is Empire State worth it
In the past, we booked the express ticket, a well worth the money experience. This time, we booked the sunrise tour – it was AMAZING. It's like no other experience we have had. Highly recommend this tour.

Is it worth going to the top of Empire State : Viewing from the highest platform (102nd floor) is stunning and well worth the extra fee but you are behind glass whereas the original platform is open-air (with railings, of course). The highest floor is less crowded but there is more room to move around and admire the views on the 86th floor platform.
