The Hobbit, or There and Back Again is related to The Lord of the Rings trilogy through the characters, plot, and setting. Each trilogy's order is simple on its own, but things can get confusing when watching all six movies together. What’s the difference between hobbit and Lord of the Rings
To offer a quick explanation of these movies, the Hobbit is the chronological precursor to the Lord of the Rings movies, which according to the story takes place about 60 years prior to the great Lord of the Rings adventure, despite the Lord of the Rings movie series having been created first.
Is Lord of the Rings worth watching : It is a truly spectacular adventure story all the way through, probably the best ever put to film…and the first three hours of it is extra special. The following two films were very good, to be sure, but this first had a better mixture of the story.
It won't really make that much of difference. But I strongly recommend watching the LOTR trilogy first. If you watch The Hobbit trilogy before you watch LOTR, you'll not be as attached to the character and the world as you will if you watch LOTR first. Watching The Hobbit first will ruin all the experience for you.
If I'm being completely honest, my recommendation would be to watch The Lord of the Rings movies and then to skip The Hobbit trilogy. Read the book instead. But if you want to watch all six films, know that there's really no right order in which to view them. It depends on how you want to experience the story.
Is The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey worth watching
It's a about twenty minutes too long. Otherwise, "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" is a very exciting and emotional ride. It's also a great looking movie with very good music. This movie is always a welcome visit. The first movie in The Hobbit trilogy, An Unexpected Journey was a financial success. It grossed over $1.017 billion at the box office, more than The Fellowship of the Ring and The Two Towers. The rushed production of The Hobbit led to a lack of pre-production time, resulting in a less cohesive creative process. The overuse of CGI, added material, and lack of memorable villains contributed to The Hobbit's failure to make a lasting impact.
More broadly speaking, the Hobbit films just aren't nearly as good as The Lord of the Rings. While there are certainly great aspects about the films, such as the excellent cast, the trilogy as a whole fails to leave the same kind of impact on the viewer as its predecessor.
Is it better to Watch The Hobbit or Lord of the Rings : It is impossible to look at The Hobbit movies without taking into consideration The Lord of the Rings trilogy of films as well as the books themselves. For so many things that the Rings movies had, The Hobbit lacked, and for much of what the The Hobbit novel represented, the movies missed.
Is The Hobbit necessary : You don't need to. I wouldn't even read the Hobbit first; LotR is much the better book, and there's nothing you need from either of the other books to make sense of it.
Is LotR a must watch
Regardless of whether you're a fantasy fan or not this is too good a movie to simply pass up, and it will be one of those movies that given time will prove it to be a classic. The deeper you look into this the more one notices that every single aspect really is a truly impressive accomplishment.
J.R.R Tolkien became famous for these Middle-Earth fantasy novels. The Hobbit is a stand-alone book, while Lord of the Rings was published as an epic trilogy. After studying languages, myth, and folktales in college and serving in WWI, Tolkien developed The Hobbit from bedtime stories he told his children. You don't need to have seen The Lord of the Rings or The Hobbit to enjoy The Rings of Power. Similarly, if you have seen those films, but it's been awhile, you're fine. It's not necessary to have recently consumed the extended editions of every film, and the same goes for all of the books.
